Weekly Vocabulary

1. Depth of Field: Also called focus range or effective focus range, is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.

2. Motion Blur: Is the apparent streaking of rapidly moving objects in a still image or a sequence of images such as a movie or animation.

3. Daguerretype: An image on a highly polished, silver-plated sheet of copper, sensitized with iodine vapors, exposed in a large box camera, developed in mercury fumes, and stabilized with salt water or "hypo" (sodium thiosulphate).
